Meal Planning

Meal Planning.pdf

This is a template for meal planning for weekend camp outs. Here is a breakdown of the document:

Put the date and title of the trip, the number of scouts, the patrol, and who is the scout responsible for purchasing food for the trip.

For Friday night, its best to not cook because we will be busy setting up camp. Scouts should eat before arriving to camp. The patrol can purchase snacks for a "Cracker Barrel".

Saturday's breakfast should be something that is filling and nutritious.

Saturday's lunch should be quick and simple depending on activities planned for that day. If leadership allows more time for cooking, then you can do more than just sandwiches.

Saturday's dinner is the main meal of the weekend. Show off your cooking skills and creativity. Consider doing a Dutch oven dish or cobbler that can be shared with the patrol (or adults!)

Sunday's breakfast should require little cooking or none at all. Oatmeal or cereal work best for Sunday because there is lots of clean up required to make it back to the scout house.
